Canine-Led, Evidence-Based Approach
Emerging Detection Capability for Conservation and Biosecurity
CAPE is developing a new range of canine led detection services designed to support conservation, environmental protection and biosecurity risk assessment.
These services represent an expansion of CAPE’s specialist detection capability beyond established sectors, applying the same structured methodology, quality standards and operational discipline to ecological risk detection.
Conservation and biosecurity threats are often difficult to detect using traditional monitoring methods. Detection dogs can identify extremely small scent signatures associated with biological material, invasive species and environmental indicators that are otherwise easily overlooked through manual inspection.
CAPE’s conservation and biosecurity capability is currently in development, with pilot activity and partnership work being undertaken to support responsible deployment.
